For a banned person, you can make an alert active for the duration of the ban, whether it’s a single day, a year, or longer. For individuals tagged as high rollers, you can set up customer-service flags such as “7 star” or “VIP”.
For many casinos, the banned persons database is a three-ring binder of information collected about people who have been banned from the property.
A binder can be useful for identifying an individual, but only if an officer has the time and inclination to scan all of its pages. In reality, most officers rely on memory to identify both banned persons and high rollers. This hit-or-miss approach can incur significant costs to the casino through lost revenue (failure to recognize a high roller) and increased liability (failure to recognize and detain a banned person).
