The Jeanne Clery UCR compiling system is designed to comply with the Jeanne Clery Statistics Act by providing a detailed report of all campus related crime. This means publishing annual reports showing the type and location of crimes by certain categories based on the final UCR crime value assigned to the case, following normal UCR reporting rules (the most severe crime in a case is the defining crime for the case).
Criminal reporting is organized to show On-Campus, Non-Campus, Public Property, and Residence Halls activity using the highest ranking crime for every incident. This system is based on mandatory UCR rules that only display the highest ranking crime for each incident. Crime stats are automatically gathered by officers writing their reports on individual incidents.
Cyrun’s system also provides automatic error checking to identify the highest ranking crimes to include in the Clery report.
